The American Legion Hall—officially the Marvin G. Shields American Legion Post 26, named in honor of a Port Townsend Medal of Honor recipient—was built in 1941 as a USO dance hall. Today, it serves not only the local veteran community but also hosts public events, meetings, and community gatherings. The newly renovated ballroom features 2,800 square feet of original birdseye maple hardwood floors, an elevated stage, and a full on-site bar. Conveniently located in downtown Port Townsend, the hall is just a short walk from the waterfront; restaurants, shops, and hotels.
